Just prior to heading over to NYFF and having just showed at the Venice Film Festival, via Andréa Picard’s shrewd programming, the Wavelengths programme featured this disturbing, at times repulsive, and surprisingly probing Dead Ringers-esque portrait from Leviathan pairing of Véréna Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor. Here is the post screening Q&A showing at the Jackman Hall of Caniba where the duo detailed how they found and displayed their subject.

Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist, and critic at IONCINEMA.com, established in 2000. A regular at Sundance, Cannes, and Venice, Eric holds a BFA in film studies from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. In 2013, he served on the narrative competition jury at the SXSW Film Festival. In 2022, he was a New Flesh Juror for Best First Feature at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
