2022 Venice Film Festival: Céline Sciamma Tapped as President of Giornate degli Autori Jury

Date:

While we eagerly anticipate the unveiling of the films that will make up all parts of the Venice Film Festival, one person who will have a say on how we look back at the Lido’s best will be Céline Sciamma. The French filmmaker will serve as president of the jury… or jokingly a Petite maman of sorts for the Giornate degli Autori sidebar (we’re talking about just under a dozen film items). The five time feature film helmer will preside over the special jury made up of 27 young European cinephiles on ‘campus’ at Giornate to assign the GdA Director’s Award, and coordinated by film festival warrior in Karlovy Vary Film Festival’s own Karel Och. Sciamma landed on the film scene with Water Lilies in 2007 and has been a mainstay at the Cannes and Berlinale film festivals.
