Oscilloscope Has Temper Tantrum for Carolina Cavalli’s “Amanda”

A tonally quirky film with its defiant and eccentric like Max Fisher (from Rushmore) type character (a straight-faced Benedetta Porcaroli) at the film’s core, the Venice Film Festival Horizons Extra section and Toronto’s Contemporary World Cinema selected Amanda is Carolina Cavalli‘s feature debut and it just found a home. Screen Daily reports that Oscilloscope Laboratories have grabbed the North American rights to the pic with plans to launch it next year.

As far as the twenty-four-year-old Amanda can remember, she has never had friends. It’s the thing she desires most. When she finds out that as infants she and Rebecca had spent a lot of time together, Amanda settles on her new mission: convincing her that they are still best friends.
