2012 Sundance Predictions: Phil Dorling’s Predisposed

Date:

#50. Predisposed – Phil Dorling

If everything works out as planned, it’ll be deja-vu for Philip Dorling and Melissa Leo again as Predisposed, the 2009 accepted short film with Leo playing the character of Penny (see pic above) has been elongated into Predisposed…a drama that might be this year’s Down to the Bone for its mother battling addiction portions and which happens to include Jesse Eisenberg and Tracy Morgan. This should be a strong contender for a U.S Dramatic Comp spot at the fest this year.

Gist: Based on the short film, this a drama focused a drug addicted mother (Melissa Leo) and her son (Jesse Eisenberg) as she prepares to enter rehab and he readies himself for an interview at Juilliard.

Producers: Ron Nyswaner, Neda Armian (Rachel Getting Married), Brice Dal Farra, Claude Dal Farra and , Lauren Munsch and Peter Sterling (Peter and Vandy)
