Apparition Have Fraternal Feeling for Boondock Saints II

Has geek-fest Comic Con, essentially a convention that gets the fanboys all reeved up for movie trailers and the sort, become a legit place for film pick-ups? After Lionsgate plunked many millions down for the rights to Kick-Ass, Apparition and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group have made what I imagine was a fairly inexpensive pick up, for what could turn a quick profit because of its cult-like status.

While I have zero interest in the title, I’m curious in seeing how much girth The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day will have will those who have seen the debut film back in 99′. The crime thriller receives a ghoulish, theatrical October 30th release. Along with the Black Dynamite arrangement, this deal demonstrates that Berney/Pohlad are willing to dip their toes into different demo-markets – much like his days with Picturehouse.

This continues writer-director Troy Duffy’s stylised 1999 crime thriller starring Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery as a fraternal twin vigilantes in Boston. The sequel follows the brothers on a mission to avenge the death of a beloved priest and also stars Billy Connolly, Clifton Collins Jr, and Julie Benz.

Anyone actually interested in seeing this title? Let us know your thoughts.
