Cannes 2009 Producer’s Patch: Focus Features International

Focus currently have three films that carry enough weight to make everyone take notice without much effort. Ang Lee and Pedro Almodovar are part of the official competition while Alejandro Amenabar’s Agora receives a non- competition slot.

Focus Features International must be hiding something. Perhaps a result of a sluggish economy, Focus have practically have no titles listed at Cannes – I’ll assume that they have other projects in the works but don’t want to divulge what is behind the doors number one, two and so on. Focus currently have three films that carry enough weight to make everyone take notice without much effort. Ang Lee and Pedro Almodovar are part of the official competition while Alejandro Amenabar‘s Agora receives a non- competition slot. Behind closed doors they’ll be selling Kevin MacDonald‘s Eagle of the Ninth and Noam Baumbach‘s Greenberg.
