Connelly and Bettany are ‘Born’ into it

It’s a whole lot easier for acting couples to stay together when casting agents pick up two players in one as is the case with hubby and wife team Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany.  Variety reports that the pair have boarded what looks to be a project in good hands – Guillermo del Toro, Lawrence Gordon and Lloyd Levin will produce, and horror vet Clive Barker will exec produce. 

Scripted Barker and Paul Kaye and to be be helm by short film filmmaker Daniel Simpson, with names like del toro and Barker involved we all get the hunch that this won’t play out like a rom com. The storyline for Born revolves around a couple who settle down in a seemingly idyllic English town to raise a family. Their perfect life is shaken when the husband, a claymation artist, discovers his characters are acting out a nightmare that comes to life.  

Production commences in mid-August in the U.K. and the pic will contain some stop-motion animated sequences, produced by Chiodo Bros. Prods.
