You may have seen the satiric trailer for ‘Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse’ passing through the vessels of YouTube communication last year.  Or, like me, you always seem to be the last person to catch those viral videos.  As the title suggests, the video introduces two guys, played by Judd Apatow-ees Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel, who have to deal not only with the apocalypse, but constant fighting and nagging with each other.  And now, according to Variety, the two starring players will be expanding the trailer into a full length feature for Mandate Pictures (Juno).  Hopefully, the story will develop a bit more than the trailer suggests.

Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who co-wrote Super Bad, also wrote the comedy short which the trailer was based off of.  The two will write and produce the feature version of Jay and Seth vs.

, with Nathan Kahane, Jason Stone and Baruchel exec-producing.  According to THR, Rogen and Goldberg have been given full creative control. The pic begins shooting next year.

Baruchel will soon appear alongside Ben Stiller in Stiller’s new action-comedy, Tropic Thunder, releasing in August.  He also recently wrapped She’s Out of My League, about an ‘average Joe who meets the perfect woman.’

Rogen will appear in the highly anticipated David Gordon-Green pic, Pineapple Express, which was also written by Rogen and Goldberg and set for release in August.  An unlikely superhero, Rogen will then be starring in The Green Hornet, yet another pic which he and Goldberg also penned.

Check out the YouTube trailer below.
