Maguire Makes Sure ‘Good People’ are On Board

Date:

After Brothers, we can now officially say that — Tobey Maguire sure likes working with the Danish. According to Production Weekly, the actor might topline and will produce the project with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo helmer Niels Arden Oplev in the saddle.
Based on the Marcus Sakey 2008 novel, the thriller essentially comes across as one part of the premise developed in Richard Kelly’s The Box – the burden of found money aspect rings true in Good People.

Good People Maguire Niels

This focuses on Tom and Anna Redd, a Chicago couple that, after finding nearly $400,000, go to extraordinary lengths to try and keep it. A family, and the security to enjoy it: that’s all Tom and Anna Reed ever wanted. But years of infertility treatments, including four failed attempts at in vitro fertilization, have left them with neither. The emotional and financial costs are straining their marriage and endangering their dreams. Then one night everything changes. Offered a chance at a future they’d almost lost hope in, they seize it. One simple choice. A fairy tale ending.
