TIFF Picks 09: Harmony Korine’s Trash Humpers

Korine returns to Gummo territory in this handheld video of a loser-gang cult-freak collective who do antisocial things in a nonnarrative way, except for the song-and-dance numbers.

#16. TRASH HUMPERS

Director: Harmony Korine
Cast: Rachel Korine, Brian Kotzue, Travis Nicholson, Harmony Korine
Distributor: Rights Available.

Buzz: More flags. More fun. At some point during this festival I need to turn my brain off and indulge in some experimental crap. This is that film. While I’ll admit I’ve got low expectations for this one, I’m always curious to see what Korine is up to.

The Gist: Korine returns to Gummo territory in this handheld video of a loser-gang cult-freak collective who do antisocial things in a nonnarrative way, except for the song-and-dance numbers.
