I’m not sure if the remake will include a lengthy scene of aggression and the same degree of violence as in Sam Peckinpah’s original (when scholars discuss the 71′ classic they make references to Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange), but what we do know is the setting is the backwoods of the Mississippi and not in the English countryside. This week’s Weekend Rental suggestion is Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs (1971).
