Date:

I chatted with Lars Nilsen for his publication Warped & Faded: Weird Wednesday and the Birth of The American Genre Film Archive (edited by Kier-La Janisse). Nilsen speaks to the lengthy process of putting the book together, which includes extensive conversations with the creators of the original Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Austin, Texas, specifically focusing on the creation of the Weird Wednesday series. We spoke on a handful of film titles and alumni of the series, the impossibility of naming any favorites, and Nilsen’s initial inspirations.
