2022 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Kogonada’s After Yang

Date:

Having had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Kogonada‘s After Yang (starring Haley Lu Richardson, Colin Farrell, Justin H. Min and Jodie Turner-Smith) was a lot of critics’ cup of tea and yet, no other major film festival has had the opportunity to show it. Kogonada was a major break out Sundance back in 2017 with Columbus, and so we think that a return to Park City is a strong possibility for a Spotlight section showing.

Gist: Based on a short story by Alexander Weinstein, After Yang follows a father and daughter as they try to save the life of their robotic family member.

Production Co./Producers: Andrew Goldman, Caroline Kaplan, Paul Mezey, Per Capita Productions’ Theresa Park.

Prediction: SPOTLIGHT.

U.S. Distributor: A24.
