We Were Two: Jodie Foster Joins Daniel Auteuil in Rebecca Zlotowski’s ‘Vie Privée’

Date:

She’s coming off a career-best with Other People’s Children (2022 Venice Film Festival selection) and recently was one of the scribes on Audrey Diwan’s Emmanuelle, Rebecca Zlotowski is confirmed to be in production on her sixth feature – one that might be about couplehood and might be (as we reported a while back) an erotic thriller. After Cineuropa mentioned that veteran actor (and director) Daniel Auteuil was to topline the project, we now have the confirmation that Jodie Foster will indeed star in Vie Privée (formerly titled Nous étions deux). Production began this month on a screenplay co-written by Zlotowski, Anne Berest and Gaëlle Macé. We imagine this is currently being shot in Paris.

Zlotowski began her career with Belle épine (Critics’ Week 2010), Grand Central (Un Certain Regard 2013) and An Easy Girl (2019 Directors’ Fortnight) and then hit Venice twice with Planetarium in 2016. Velvet Films’ Frederic Jouve is producing the film. We’ll provide more updates as they come in – but we imagine this will be earmarked for a Venice drop.
