Top 10: Repeat Offenders in Woody Allen and Scarlett Johansson

Date:

Today’s top ten (part II gets released tomorrow) looks at the special bond that gets created between the filmmaker and the actor and how that working relationship evolves over the course of not one film but several films. I began this top ten listing last year (see here) and curiously the “repeat offenders” this year weren’t included on 07’s list. Our number ten spot is reserved to:

10. Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Comments: As part of a quartet comprised of Cruz, Bardem and Hall, the curvy Scarlett Johansson takes less place than in her previous collaborations in Scoop and Match Point. Woody Allen uses her in a more age appropriate role — youth culture/young American’s discovery of self and the world around her. The camera loves her and we love looking at her.
