Mubi Lands Palme d’Or Hopeful “Decision to Leave”

Date:

The wallets are officially open and Mubi are the first to move on available Palme d’Or titles taking the rights (on several territories) for North America on Park Chan-wook‘s Decision to Leave. The title essentially becomes their first unofficial foray into the United States with a major prestige title (they had taken the same route with Benedetta in U.K theatres last year). Plans are for a fall release – so we’re looking at possible dips at Telluride, TIFF and NYFF after Cannes.

Starring Tang Wei, this is about a man who falls from a mountain peak to his death. The detective in charge of the investigation, Hae-joon (Park Hae-il), comes to meet the dead man’s wife Seo-rae (Tang Wei). When she becomes a suspect, Hae-joon finds himself slowly developing an interest in her.
