Fitting that the film title for this thriller is being filmed in it’s birthday month, the sign that is represented by the twins Castor and Pollux happens to be the latest film for this indie helmer. Re-teaming creatively with backers behind his last film (Land Ho!), Aaron Katz finds himself in the company of a diverse cast. Variety reports that Lola Kirke, Zoe Kravitz and John Cho are toplining, while Ricki Lake, Greta Lee, Michelle Forbes, Nelson Franklin, Reeve Carney, Jessica Parker Kennedy and James Ransone are supporting characters in Katz’s fifth feature film which began lensing in Los Angeles this week. Gamechanger Films’ Mynette Louie, Sara Murphy and Adele Romanski are producing with Rough House Pictures executive producing.
Gist: This is a thriller set in Los Angeles.
Worth Noting: Land Ho! won the Independent Spirit Cassavetes Award.
Do We Care?: We weren’t banking on a Land Ho! reunion with fellow helmer Martha Stephens, but we’re nonetheless looking forward in what should be a sizeable step up for Katz with a budget perhaps larger than Cold Weather, Quiet City and Dance Party, USA combined.
