Girlhood Uninterrupted: Corsini Begins Pre-production on “Le retour”

Date:

After performing a full on physical and medical examination of the societal woes in her native France by way of a hospital emergency room in the Cannes comp La facture, Catherine Corsini will make a journey towards the south and explore teen female perspectives from a pair of in Le retour. It was announced that the project received some coin and is getting ready for a September shoot in Corsica.

Co-written alongside Naïla Guiguet (who participated on Louis Garrel’s last two outings as a director and co-wrote Thomas Salvador’s full on frottage of a mountain side in the Directors’ Fortnight winning La montagne), this will be a fourth time forn Corsini under the Chaz Productions label – which produced among others – La belle saison (read review). Production begins in September until mid November with a Cannes Film Festival berth as a possibility.

We don’t have any official synopsis, but Le retour will likely focus on two strong-minded and strong-willed teenage girls with Senegalese/European roots exploring issues of identity, class and sexuality. We could possibly have some fresh new acting talents — we imagine there’ll be more info to come prior to production.
