Telefilm Canada announces has committed almost 13 million dollars to 21 feature-length films (English market). Almost 300 projects were submitted. At the top of the list is one of our most anticipated feature film debuts in Meryam Joobeur‘s Motherhood. We also find Murmur (2019) Nova Scotian filmmaker Heather Young moving into her sophomore feature drama titled There, There. Former IONCINEMA.com contributing writer Jesse Noah Klein moves into a thriller (Best Boy) with his third feature. He previously directed We’re Still Here (2016) and Like a House on Fire (2020). And Winnipegger Matthew Rankin (2019’s The Twentieth Century) is hard at work with Une langue universelle. Most of the projects will go into production within the twelve months ahead so we’ll see a some sampling ready for 2023 with the majority premiering in 2024. Here is the complete list.
