Kusijanović Teaming with Yinuo Wang on Next Project

Date:

In a small piece of next project news we’ve been sitting on this since the summer, while Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović was doing the press rounds for the release of her debut film Murina in US theatres (via the Kino Lorber folks) she shed light on what she might possibly be working on next for what would become a sophomore film. With the buzz of her debut film, Kusijanović confided with us that there were many several available directions for her to move in next but she is currently focused on a mother-daughter themed project.

We learned (via TheFilmStage) that she is co-writing with Yinuo Wang (who wrote directed Taipei Factory II (2014) and last year’s Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Shipei Wen) and described it as “very unusual, exciting, sensual, and dark world. And it is going to be a wild ride.” On our end, we learned that this relationship gets tested and its about “what are most important experiences we have to choose once we are faced with death.” Yes the deets are sparse but it’s exciting news from a filmmaker who gave us one of the best film debuts for the 2021-22 campaign.
