2021 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Scott Cooper’s Antlers

Date:

With the restructuring of Searchlight and Covid kicking around the release date, the only reason why we think Antlers might break into the Sundance line-up has to do with the film’s current release date of February 19th. Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Greene and Scott Haze star in a project that went into production in October off 2019 in Vancouver. This is Scott Cooper‘s  fifth feature after a productive 2009’s Crazy Heart, 2013’s Out of the Furnace, 2015’s Black Mass and 2017’s Hostiles.

Gist: In an isolated Oregon town, a middle-school teacher and her sheriff brother become embroiled with her enigmatic student, whose dark secrets lead to terrifying encounters with a legendary ancestral creature who came before them.
