2025 Gan Film Foundation: Guillaume Renusson, Nyima Cartier, Hélène Rosselet-Ruiz & Lila Pinell Land Support

Date:

The quartet of first and second feature film projects highlighted by the Gan Film Foundation have been unveiled and we have a pair worth tracking for a 2026 release and another two that will likely be showcased in ’27. Films currently in post that received a helping hand include Hélène Rosselet-Ruiz‘s Le triangle d’or and Lila Pinell‘s Shana, while Guillaume Renusson‘s 43 and Nyima Cartier‘s Chien noir are set to move into production in March.

The Cineuropa folks confirm that Renusson’s sophomore feature includes players such as Nina Meurisse, Artus, Chiara Mastroianni, Damien Bonnard, Idir Azougli, Florence Loiret-Caille and Céline Sallette. It revolves around 36-year-old Axelle who’s a major in the emergency police force. Suspended after several months of free falling, she’s admitted into a remote clinic for burnt out police officers. Feeling defensive, she observes the other clients from afar, each of them broken by the job in their own way. Axelle has no choice but to yield to the support groups, therapy and life in a community without really believing in it. When her roommate Fanny dies, the fragile balance in the clinic wavers. Officially speaking, it was suicide – the 43rd in the police force that year.

Cartier’s debut stars Megan Northam in a tale that follows 29-year-old Claire who works in a start-up founded by two highly ambitious young men called Arthur and Benjamin. Just as they’re celebrating raising their first round of funding, Benjamin rapes Claire. The young woman falls apart, goes off radar and stays at home in shock… Until she encounters a mysterious dog: a new companion who gives her the strength to stand tall and face her attacker …
