Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist, and critic at IONCINEMA.com, established in 2000. A regular at Sundance, Cannes, and Venice, Eric holds a BFA in film studies from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. In 2013, he served on the narrative competition jury at the SXSW Film Festival. He was an associate producer on Mark Jackson’s "This Teacher" (2018 LA Film Festival, 2018 BFI London). He is a Golden Globes Voter, member of the ICS (International Cinephile Society), FIPRESCI and AQCC (Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma).

2011 Sundance Predictions: Brian M. Cassidy & Melanie Shatzky’s The Patron Saints

Before they spring into action on the narrative feature film project, helmers Brian M. Cassidy & Melanie Shatzky's non-fiction stint, the Cinereach/IFP Documentary Projects in Post-Production supported The Patron Saints looks poised for a debut somewhere between Sundance and SXSW. The duo have been to Park City before with their short, and have been to the Rotterdam and TIFF film fests as well.

2011 Sundance Predictions: Dee Rees’ Pariah

An extension of her 2007/2008 short which was featured at Sundance in 2008, Dee Rees' (see pic above) feature debut goes by the same title of Pariah. This edition's LBGT, coming-of-age pic is a Sundance Lab, IFP and Cinereach supported project tht should find a spot nestled in item is definitely ready as it was part of the 2010 IFP supported projects in the U.S. Dramatic Competition.

2011 Sundance Predictions: Mona Nicoara and Miruna Coca-Cozma’s Our School

Since her film debut (as associate producer) on the 2001 Sundance Special Jury Prize winning Children Underground, Mona Nicoara has been hard at work on her filmmaking debut. Offering one more snapshot of the children in her native Romania, Our School - an IFP and Sundance Lab supported project that Nicoara co-directed with Miruna Coca-Cozma should find a spot in the World Documentary Comp section.
