Top 100 Most Anticipated American Indie Films of 2018: #44. Jim Hosking’s An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn

Date:

An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn

Jim Hosking‘s debut film The Greasy Strangler was sort of like the squid option at a restaurant — an acquired taste for most (we gave the film a solid ★★ in our review), but the film nonetheless found a passionate fanbase not only from Sundance programmers but among industry folk alike. He comes packing heat for his sophomore project, with a zany cast listing, and worth mentioning here, this serves as one quick turnaround from a first to second feature. Filming on An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn took place in February in Eureka, California.

Spotful & IONCINEMA.com

Starring Aubrey Plaza, Emile Hirsch, Jemaine Clement, Matt Berry and Craig Robinson, Lulu Danger’s unsatisfying marriage takes a fortunate turn for the worse when a mysterious man from her past comes to town to perform an event called ‘An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn For One Magical Night Only.’ Can’t wait to see which direction Hosking brings us in.

Release Date/Prediction: This was selected for Sundance and Rotterdam Film Fests.
