A project that was announced at the end of 2017, Australian actor/director Abe Forsythe turns to the popular rom-com zombie subgenre with his latest offering, Little Monsters. Produced by Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Keith Calder, Jessica Calder, Forsythe snags DP Lachlan Milne (“Stranger Things,” Hunt for the Wilderpeople, 2016) and a cast headed by Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad. Forsythe’s previous films as director include Down Under (2016) and Ned (2003), a comedy about Ned Kelly.

Gist: A kid show personality and a washed-up singer team with a schoolteacher to protect a band of kindergartners during a zombie outbreak.

Release Date/Prediction: Little Monsters will premiere in the Midnight program at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
