West Wants Revenge; “In a Valley of Violence” Lassoes Travolta & Hawke

Date:

Set about half a century after Kelly Reichardt’s wagon wilderness Meek’s Cutoff, Ti West is switching gears. A planned move away from the comfort dwellings of the horror genre, we imagine there’ll still be some splatter in his take on the western. His American Old West looks to include John Travolta and will surely star Ethan Hawke who has been a sort of good-luck charm for Jason Blum, who’ll produce and ta-teamed with the actor on Sinister and The Purge. THR also reports that Jacob Jaffke and Peter Phok return to the fold – and will also produce In a Valley of Violence.

Gist: This is a revenge Western film set in the 1890s.

Worth Noting: The oft-collaborator of Joe Swanberg clearly disowned Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever citing creative differences in the film’s final cut.

Do We Care?: At this point we’re uncertain as to what type of roles the above mentioned players will contribute to the piece, but West is more hit than miss with his contributions to V/H/S (review), the stylistically sturdy The House of the Devil, ode to classics The Innkeepers and the Venice preemed The Sacrament.
