A dash of Sundance, a pinch of the Berlinale, a sprinkling of Cannes and a good number of Venice Film Festival items (Duse, Jay Kelly, Landmarks and No Other Choice were favored over Bugonia, The Smashing Machine, and The Testament of Ann Lee) have been added to the upcoming New York Film Festival’s Main Slate programme. Of the 34 films, among those that caught our attention from the 34 films we find Ulrich Köhler receiving world premiere status invite for Gavagai, while we learn that Claire Denis will indeed have a TIFF world premiere to The Fence prior to landing in New York City for its North American Premiere. With the announcement we learn that Telluride skipped out on Oliver Laxe’s brilliant Sirât, and former fest director Kent Jones will shore up with his third feature Late Fame. Here is the Main Slate:
