Video: Romain Gavras’ The World is Yours (Le monde est à toi) | 2018 Cannes Film Festival

We haven’t been bemused by gangsta comedy genre perhaps since Guy Ritchie’s bumbling idiot films, and yet with this long anticipated sophomore film, Romain Gavras surprises all expectations with The World is Yours (Le monde est à toi) with a misfit cast comprised of Karim Leklou, Vincent Cassel and Isabelle Adjani and all of their quirks. Abiding by the rule of the split genre, Gavras returns to filmmaking employing all the tools of the trade that he perfected with commercial and music video work. This should play well with the French public. Here is post Q&A world premiere footage from the Directors’ Fortnight.
