Anna Kendrick has all the reasons to pop open a bottle of aged grapes and it has very little to do with her bite-size role in today’s mega teen vampire film release of Twilight. After picking up indie roles in 2003’s Camp, grabbing a piece of the spotlight with Sundance’s Rocket Science and having toplined the yet to be released Paramount Vantage‘s The Marc Pease Experience, THR reports the actress beat out Emily Blunt and Jason Reitman’s own Juno girl Ellen Page for the lead female in Reitman‘s next project. Oh and she gets to play against George Clooney.

Based on author Walter Kirn‘s novel, Up in the Air is described as a story of the self-realization and self-redemption of a man (Clooney) who fires people professionally. Spending most of his time flying around from city to city for his job, he is six days short of accumulating $1 million in frequent-flier miles. The man sets out on one final trip to achieve his goal but gets much more than he bargained for in the process.
