In a rather lengthy profile piece we learnt that fresh from his brilliant Berlinale winner The Blue Trail (read review), Gabriel Mascaro is opening a production co. in his backyard of Recife, Brazil. Alongside Paula Cosenza, Trema will be focusing on “international co-productions, scripted series and auteur-driven cinema with global reach.” Below we have some projects worth keeping tabs on Three Dark Nights which was at the 2024 Venice Gap-Financing Market. João Paulo Miranda Maria who already has I Don’t Even Know Who I Was we now in post, will next be working on a film titled Rafael. Lastly we find projects by Matías Bize and Joca Georgia Guerra-Peixe with a limited series by Gabriela Amaral Almeida of horror films O Animal Cordial and The Father’s Shadow fame.
