Top 100 Most Anticipated American Indie Films of 2018: #63. Jacob Estes’ Only You

Date:

Only You

We suppose that Jacob Estes took one off the chin when the Weinsteins muddled the release of his sophomore picture, the Sundance preemed The Details and it potentially took the helmer out of circulation (see our Missing in Action series), but enter a new original screenplay and the backing of mint making producer Jason Blum into the equation and we have a third film signed by Estes too look forward to. Production on Only You began in April in Los Angeles — David Oyelowo was the first player to join.

Spotful & IONCINEMA.com

Storm Reid (pictured above), Brian Tyree Henry, Alfred Molina, Mykelti Williamson and Shinelle Azoroh star alongside Oyelowo in what is only being described as a thriller that sees a police officer’s family is killed. Reid will portray the niece of Oyelowo’s policeman character. This could be a solid offering from the Blumhouse Productions canon.

Release Date/Prediction: A hot TIFF acquisitions title showing feels very apropos.
