Top 150 Most Anticipated Foreign Films of 2020: #46. All Inclusive – Malgorzata Szumowska

Date:

All Inclusive

Get ready for a deluge of new films from Poland’s Malgorzata Szumowska. 2019 saw her English language debut The Other Lamb (read review) bow at TIFF, but the busy director looks to have two new projects premiering in 2020 (and just began to receive funding for another project on top of these two, A Kind of Longing, which should be a likely 2021 release). Our first new Szumowska material for 2020 will be All Inclusive, a Polish-Moroccan co-production (the first of its kind) which reunites her with actor Andrzej Chyra (who starred in her revered 2013 title In the Name Of…). Alongside Chyra, the cast consists of Izabela Kuna and Krzysztof Czeczot and once more lensed by her favored DP, Michal Englert. Szumowska produces alongside Lamia Charibi. Szumowska is also currently filming Wonder Zenia.

Gist: All Inclusive is about seven Polish women who take a vacation to Morocco, who confront reality when they leave behind the security of their tourist packages.

Release Date/Prediction: Szumowska was editing All Inclusive in 2018, about the time her title Mug premiered in Berlin. With a March 2020 release date scheduled for Poland, we expect Szumowska to compete for a fourth time in Berlin 2020.
