2024 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Ti West’s MaXXXine

Date:

Sundance and SXSW programmers might be duking it out for the final part in Ti West‘s trilogy. Critically acclaimed horror films X (2022 – a SXSW preem) and Pearl (2022 – a Venice preem) were surprise hits on the fest circuit and MaXXXine looks poised to burn the entire village down (80’s Los Angeles). Completed back in October of last year, Mia Goth returns as Maxine and is surrounded by Michelle Monaghan, Elizabeth Debicki, Bobby Cannavale, Kevin Bacon, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito and Halsey, the A24 folks could be packing some cool swag.

Gist: The film follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980’s Los Angeles.

Production Co./Producers: Jacob Jaffke, Harrison Kreiss, Kevin Turen, Ti West.

Prediction: Midnight section.

U.S. Distributor: A24.
