Video: Andrew Heckler’s Burden | 2018 Sundance Film Festival

Date:

A long time in the making and perhaps the longest gestating film from the entire line-up all sections combined, starring Garrett Hedlund, Forest Whitaker and Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Heckler‘s Burden certainly wears its heart and the good versus sinister elements on its sleeve. The film means well and is a sincere handling of the fact based material, but while the audience ate this up, I couldn’t help feel that the cast of stereotypes were insufferably distracting with the only positive flash being Andrea Riseborough’s twang. The more heartfelt elements can be felt here in an emotional and thankful Andrew Heckler who presented the world premiere with cast and crew.
