Top 100 Most Anticipated American Indie Films of 2018: #10. Benh Zeitlin’s Wendy

Date:

Wendy

A long awaited follow up sophomore film, Benh Zeitlin has been keeping busy as of last in composing the music for Jonas Carpignano’s Mediterranea and Viktor Jakovleski’s Brimstone & Glory. Wendy will certainly belong to the micro world and landscape anarchy a la Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Spotful & IONCINEMA.com

First-timers Devin France, Yashua Mack, Gage Naquin, Gavin Naquin and Romyri Ross star in a story about a young girl who is kidnapped and taken to a hidden ecosystem where a tribal war is raging over a form of pollen that breaks the relationship between aging and time. The most secretive project put together since A Ghost Story, we can’t wait to see marketing materials and find out deets about the production.

Release Date/Prediction: Cannes might welcome back the filmmaker — Beasts of the Southern Wild was showcased there.
