Video: Josephine Decker’s Madeline’s Madeline | 2018 Sundance Film Festival

Date:

Madeline’s Madeline is the reason why I love the programming for the Sundance’s NEXT section. Madeline’s Madeline is the reason why I love micro-indie. Madeline’s Madeline is the reason why the rules of cinema are meant to be melded, folded, molded, rejuvenated, shaped and bent out of shape. Madeline’s Madeline confirms what we already saw in her previous features. Josephine Decker has officially arrived (although I’d argue she was already on film fest programmers radar, select critic folk and ours as well) and this masterwork (picked up by O-Scope) might just be the best American independent film offering of 2018. We were on hand for the world preem athe Library theatre with cast and crew (see vid above) and we caught up with the film for a second viewing (see Helena Howard vid below). We’ll also be publishing a quick sit down with Josephine sometime this week.
