2018 Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Intl. Film Fest: Lav Diaz & Lee Chang-Dong Among Highlights
Selections have been announced for the second edition of the Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Int. Film Festival. The brainchild of former Venice Film Fest topper Marco Müller and master filmmaker Jia Zhangke, this year the festival has lassoed Lav Diaz (check out our Berlin interview) and Lee Chang-Dong (check out our Cannes review of Burning) for Masterclass gigs and we once again find a sprinkling of international offerings from Sundance (Dead Pigs, Wildlife), mostly Cannes, Locarno (Hotel by the River, Too Late to Die Young) and TIFF title (Baby, Platform section winner Cities of Last Things) preems along with local fair. The fest which takes place on October 11th until the 20th in Pingyao mostly caters to next wave of filmmakers. Here are the program sections and film title selections.
