Last year’s section of sixteen included such gems as Beach Rats (Directing Award), Brigsby Bear, Ingrid Goes West (Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award), Golden Exits and U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic winner I don’t feel at home in this world anymore. In 2018, we have sophomore film from the likes of Reed Morano (I Think We’re Alone Now), Desiree Akhavan (The Miseducation of Cameron Post) and Sara Colangelo (The Kindergarten Teacher) measuring up against debuts in Anthony Mandler (Monster), Paul Dano (Wildlife), Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You) and Christina Choe (NANCY) with our most anticipated item of the bunch being the latest from Sebastian Silva (Tyrel). Thesps Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jennifer Ehle, Andrea Riseborough, and producer Oren Moverman come to this section with multiple projects, while Ann Dowd should be given some type of award for having three projects in the section.
