2024 Golden Globe Awards: Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist & Anora Take Pole Positions

It’ll be a Cannes Film Festival competition rematch alongside the critical darling (Best Director) winning competition film from the Venice Film Festival. Emilia Pérez landed ten nominations including two Best Supporting Actresses nods Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña and two original songs while in close second we find Brady Corbet‘s The Brutalist in the mix with seven nominations (three acting kudos going to Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce). The Palme d’Or winner Anora landed five nominations in the expected top categories with a Best Supporting Actor hat tip to Yura Borisov. Sean Baker’s film landed the top mention at The Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) with The Brutalist being the runner-up and over the weekend Audiard reigned supreme at the European Film Awards. In the Best Director Motion Picture category Edward Berger (Conclave), Coralie Fargeat (The Substance) and Payal Kapadia (All We Imagine as Light) were favored over Denis Villeneuve. The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will; take place on January 5th. Here are all the nominations:
